Booby Deerfield

The film, directed by Sydney Pollack and played by Al Pacino and Marthe Keller, tells the history of Formula One driver Bobby Deerfield a calculating, control-obsessed loner who has become used to winning the checkered flag on the track. But when he witnesses a fiery crash that kills a teammate and seriously wounds a competitor, Deerfield becomes unsettled by the spectre of death. During a visit to the survivor, his world is further set askew when he meets Lillian Morelli, a quirky, impulsive woman racing against time.

A portion of the movie was filmed between Lierna and Varenna on Lake Como, you can see the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, the towns of Valsolda, Bellagio, Tremezzo, Varenna and Villa Melzi-D’Eril.

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones is a 2002 American epic space opera film directed by George Lucas and written by Lucas and Jonathan Hales. It is the second installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The film tells the story took place ten years after the events in Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace.

In Star Wars episode II, directed by George Lucas, you can see Villa del Balbianello in Lenno, where the young Jedi Anakin Skywalker marries in secret with Padme Amidala, and the park of Tremezzo.

A month by the lake is a 1995 romantic commedy starring Vanessa Redgrave, Edward Fox and Uma Thurman. It is directed by John Irving and is based on the novel by H.E.Bates.

The movie tells the story of Miss Bentley, a spinster that decide to spend her summer holiday in Lake Como with her father before World War I. In 1937 after her father death she returns to Lake Como, to clear the air. She meets a bachelor named Major Wilshaw and becomes interested in him, even if a young American girl named Miss Beaumont arrives and flirts with the major.
Parts of the movie scenes were filmed in Varenna, Bellagio and Lierna area, Lake Como.

Ocean’s Twelve is a 2004 American comedy heist film, the first sequel to 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven. Like its predecessor, the film was directed by Steven Soderbergh and used an ensemble cast. It was released in the United States on December 10, 2004. A third film, Ocean’s Thirteen, was released on June 8 2007, in the United States—thus forming the Ocean’s Trilogy. The film stars George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Andy García, Julia Roberts, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac. In Ocean’s twelve, you can see Villa Erba, where Night Fox lives, and Villa Oleandra.

Cool is a video by the American singer Gwen Stefani. It was directed by Sophie Muller and filmed in Lake Como. The video follows the song’s theme and depicts the relationship that Stefani has with a former boyfriend and his new girlfriend. The villa featured in the video is the Villa Erba, in the town of Cernobbio, which Stefani said was “so beautiful”. In Cool, you can see also Lenno and Cernobbio.
